Recognized As A Top Performing Nursing Home in Rhode Island Once Again

 In News

Very Exciting News!

We here at Alpine Nursing Home could not be prouder or humbler to announce that we were rated, yet again, as a top performer in both short and long-term care in the State of Rhode Island by U.S. News and World Report for 2020-2021.

It is our consummate goal to continue to provide quality service and compassionate care to all our residents at Alpine Nursing Home.  We feel that our highly skilled staff truly deserves recognition for providing quality care, safety, and a feeling of being a “home” away from home.

This is especially true for the past year with enduring covid. It has been an extremely challenging year for all of us and our residents and their families.

U.S. News and World Report evaluated more than 15,000 skilled nursing homes nationwide in every state.  This year, approximately 3,000 nursing homes earned the designation of a U.S. News Best Nursing Home; and Alpine Nursing Home is excited to be among the designated few.

As a small, independent, family-owned nursing facility with 60 beds, we continue to strive for excellence in service, safety and care each and every day.  We will not rest on our laurels – we feel compelled to improve our ratings and ranking with each passing year.

About Us

Located in Coventry, Rhode Island, Alpine Nursing home is an independent family owned nursing facility founded in 1972 which provides services for those patients seeking short term rehabilitative and orthopedic care as well as providing for the long term treatment of chronic illnesses.

We also offer respite and hospice care.

We specialize in wound care, IV therapy, cardiac rehab, and tube feeding.  It is and continues to be our mission to provide high quality, individualized health care services to our residents and retain our position as a superior provider of nursing home services.

What we lack in facility size, we definitely make up for in exceptional, quality care!

U.S. News and World Report – Ratings and Ranking Methodology

U.S. News & World Report is the global authority in health care rankings.  Each year they release the names of the Best Nursing Homes in the U.S.  Their reports explain how nursing homes were evaluated and ranked.

Since their inception in 2009, their ratings have relied on data collected by Nursing Home Compare, a program run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a federal agency that sets and enforces the standards by which all nursing homes should adhere to.

“For the aging population in America, a nursing home should meet the specific level of care based on the needs of each patient or resident,” said Kim Castro, editor, and chief content officer of U.S. News. “The U.S. News Best Nursing Home ratings hone in on measurements like emergency room visits, quality of staff, and proper distribution of medical and physical therapy to help families make an informed decision. These ratings help individuals and their families begin their search for senior care and should be used in consultation with a medical professional and in-depth on-site visits.”

We find these reports give us vital information that we can learn from so that we can work on areas we may be lacking in and continue to grow in the areas we excel at.

Striving For Excellence

It is our goal to continue to be committed to our residents and dedicated to providing continuous quality and positive experiences.

At a time where there is a real nursing and CNA shortage in Rhode Island, we are proud of the fact that our staff continues to grow and our turnover is low.  Our staff love the residents and work hard to make their short or long-term stay as comfortable and happy as possible.

Although ratings and rankings are important, nothing can take the place of actually visiting each nursing home.

A visit can help you visualize the day-to-day routines of the staff and the residents, the activities provided to help keep up morale and positivity, the care provided, the food offered; and you can ask questions along the way that will help you make a more informed decision.

Please feel free to contact us at 401-397-5001.

We will love to give you a tour or provide information over the phone or virtually when needed.  I’m happy we can at least have in-person visits again. We are located at 557 Weaver Hill Road, Coventry, RI.

Again, we at the Alpine Nursing Home are excited to be recognized as a high performer!
