St. Patrick’s Day at the Alpine Nursing Home

Spring is FINALLY upon us and none too soon!  Here at Alpine Nursing Home, our activities director and staff have already begun preparations for our first of many holiday-themed parties, activities, and fun!

Our first spring event is St. Patrick’s Day – and you don’t need the luck of the Irish or being Irish to enjoy “all things green”!

Day full of Fun

St. Patrick’s Day is universally celebrated….even by those without Irish roots. This year, St. Patrick’s Day will be observed on Tuesday, March 17th.

We at Alpine Nursing Home aren’t letting age, health, or mobility keep our residents from enjoying this holiday!

It’ll be a day full of fun, food, friendship, music, and games!  Our residents love our annual St. Patrick’s Day luncheon where you’ll find our rooms decorated, both the residents and staff wearing green…..and let’s not forget the shamrocks!

Happy Residents

We strongly believe that although it is vital to give the outmost best health care to each of our residents, it is equally important to ensure that their mental and emotional needs are met as well.

Having something to look forward to lifts our residents’ spirits when they are feeling sad and lonely. So, we feel it is our job to make sure their happiness is a priority. It is shown that if a patient is happy, they will recover more quickly.

Our amazing Activities Director, Celeste, always provides a full activities calendar every month in order to ensure that our residents can socialize with our other guests and find companionship that is so desperately needed when away from family and friends and are not feeling so well.

Art Classes, Bingo, and More

Besides the themed holiday events, we offer art classes and Bingo with the church ladies. It’s also always a special treat when musicians stop by to play some old favorites for our residents to sing along to.  Dancing and singing always brings joy!

We also encourage family members and friends to stop in for a visit and join in the festivities. All this helps your loved ones by stimulating his/her brain and boosts social skills instead of sitting around being bored.

We always tell our residents that although they have moved into our facilities, it doesn’t mean that they have to stop celebrating festivals and holidays that are important to them. We encourage them to continue with all their traditions, hobbies, and interests that they have always enjoyed.
